ABPS is designed to serve both the American Baptist clergyperson seeking new challenges in ministry and the local congregation while seeking new pastoral leadership.
Ministerial Leaders can now make changes to their Profile, including their ABPS Narrative on our website. Click on Update for further information.
Your ABPS Profile, whether it circulates or not, is an important tool for your ministry. Your region staff have a copy of your current Profile. It gives them vital information about you. When you determine it is time for you to consider a new ministry situation, we can activate your Profile and start circulating it immediately, if it is up-to-date.
Every week we talk with people who for one reason or another, let their Profile go out of date. They now find themselves in a position where they want or need to move. Unfortunately it will take them 4-6 weeks to bring their Profile up-to-date. Don't let this happen to you. Start the process of updating your Profile today, by clicking on the Update button to your left.

ABPS has just completed updating CALLING AN AMERICAN BAPTIST MINISTER (editor: The Rev. Mary Mild), a tool designed to help ABC search committees in the search and call process. Copies can be purchased by calling 1-800-4-JUDSON.
For the year (2009) we enrolled 117 new individuals into ABPS. Currently we have 2269 active members in the system. Of those 591 are Open to Move, and another 359 Might Consider Moving. Of these active Profiles 906 Profiles are Out-of-date and cannot circulate until they are Updated.
If your Profile is Out-of-date, now is the time to Update. Click on the Update option on the menu at the left of this page and by email request an Update packet. Be sure to include your name and current address.
Persons who are in the Profile system can update certain basic information on their Profile on the WEB by clicking on the "Update" option at the left of this page. Changing information on the WEB site does not equal a three-year update. It's only purpose is to keep information current during the interim.
The information that can be updated without charge from this Web site includes a change in name, address, phone number, work history including start and end dates of former position and start date of new position, and a change in availability. Other changes which require a $15 Update fee should occur in writing accompanied by your check or money order, or you may use your credit card by calling 800-392-2343.
There is no charge for a regular three year Update completed within the time limit allowed. ABPS notifies participants approximately four months before the three year anniversary date. Anyone who believes it is time for their three year Update and does not want to wait for our reminder can either call our toll free number at 1-800-392-2343 or send us an E-mail message at: ABPS@abc-usa.org and we will send your Update Packet immediately.
