The day began with the blessing of the walls. The House and Crew leaders washed their hands as the homeowners watched.

Tuesday was a beautiful day with clear blue skies and hot Louisiana sun. A great day for building.

Most of the day was spent completing the exterior walls, adding insulation and working on interior walls.

We made time to add blessings and prayers to many of the walls as well as taking pictures with homeowners and of course, taking brief time-outs throughout the day.

Most of the day was spent preparing for and raising roof trusses. First one roof, then another, and another and yet still one more.

Friday was another day dedicated to working on the roof…

Two homes had bathtubs, hot water heaters and some copper piping installed by the end of the day. This is the first of the contractor work.

Because of thunderstorms late Friday night and early Saturday morning, much work wasn’t done on the five homes, but dedicated volunteers were able to lay the sod on several new homes.

Contractors were busy preparing the new lots. On Monday, May 12th we will continue building five homes and begin the remaining homes.
