Everything Is changing!

Christian Citizen 2009 Volume 2
Many Voices, Many People, One Mission—Intercultural Vision and Ministries.

This issue of The Christian Citizen offers a glimpse into the manner in which American Baptists are responding individually, corporately, and through the ministries of local congregations to God's gift of diversity as well as moving toward intercultural ministry and mission engagement.

Remember when TV only had three channels? Remember the first time you ate tacos, or sushi, or gyros? Remember the first time you heard others speaking Chinese, Spanish and French at the local store?

You may have noticed that the world is changing, and one of those changes is that Americans come from many cultures—a whole wide world of cultures, offering new ideas and new opportunities to help us grow more and more like God's "kingdom on earth as it is in heaven."

How do you begin to understand other cultures and benefit from all this change? National Ministries' Intercultural Team is dedicated to helping churches learn how to effectively engage in intercultural ministry, a ministry that is inclusive, that embraces and engages cultural differences in respectful and meaningful ways, and that seeks to find common ground in Christ.

When you are ready for more, contact our team. We will be happy to travel into this new, amazing, intercultural world with you as we learn together what God has ahead for all of us.
