Justice Ministries is a response to Jesus' description of his own call and ministry in Luke 4: 18-19 —

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."

It's a response that follows the Micah mandate to "Do justice...." At National Ministries, justice programs and initiatives prophetically see into the causes and contexts of unjust conditions, and they look beyond immediate responses to create pathways and structures of renewal that seek to bring faith and justice together.

The pathways and structures of renewal--perhaps better understood as strategies and resources--encourage individuals and social systems into right relationships with God, neighbors and the world, with an intentionality that focuses on creating opportunities for all people.
