Hurricane Katrina Response

Ways to Help with Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts

Volunteers
  • Encourage volunteering in American Baptist Men's Ministries disaster relief efforts to clean up debris during the next 12 months or longer. Visit the new Web site at www.abmen.org for information.
  • Mobilize retired persons and others willing to help through volunteer service. Have them contact Victoria Goff, National Coordinator, Volunteer Services Victoria.Goff@abc-usa.org.
  • Encourage chaplains and pastoral counselors to be in contact with the national endorsement agent, at George.Langhorne@abc-usa.org to join the efforts of other chaplains engaging in hurricane trauma relief.
  • Contact National Ministries' Volunteers in Mission (VIM) program at 1-800-ABC-3USA and ask for "Katrina Response," to inform VIM of a local group's participation in hurricane relief work, or to join a response group.
